Birdland - 315 w 44th St, NY 10036, New York, NY, USA
Birdland born on 15 December 1949. It created a jazz club in New York
City in the United States. His name was given in honor of the saxophonist Charlie Parker, who had the nickname “Bird“.
This legendary club was closed for 21 years because of poor sales by
the arrival on the music scene of Rock & Roll. However , they opened its doors in 1996 , and since then the most famous artists have gathered there, as: Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Chico O’Farrill, Arturo O’Farrill & The Chico O’Farrill Afro–Cuban Jazz Orchestra, Pat Metheny, Lee Konitz, Diana
Krall, Dave Holland, Regina Carter, Tito Puente, Toshiko Akiyoshi, etc.
Currently, Birdland is home to popular musical events such as the
Umbria JazzFestival NY and NY Annual Django Reinhardt Festival. It also has a weekly from 8:30 pm (local time New York) programming.
